Illinios was the 21st state in 1818. It is condsidered a transportation hub because it connects
the Great Lakes, Mississippi River, and Illinios River in the western part of the state. Jazz was
developed in the state when African Americans migrated from the south to leave the farms. The Illinios
geography consists of interior plains and has a humid continental climate. There are an average of 35 tornadoes
a year in Illinios. Two thirds of the population reside in the Chicago area and its suburbs.
